A Walk for Life to benefit the Pregnancy Care Center of Jonesboro will take place on March 28, Saturday. The registration is at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9:00. As part of its Grow Deeper Series, Peachtree City United Methodist Church is hosting a study session on Pilgrimage. Everyone is invited to join this discussion, Saturday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m.-noon in Room 304 at the Robinson Road campus. The topic of discussion for this month, centers around the role pilgrimages, religious journeys, play in the life of the Christian believer. Included in the discussion will be church members who just returned from the Holy Land and how that experience shaped them to become more like Jesus. Childcare will be provided at this event.

The North Georgia Youth Music and Arts Camp is open to rising 7th graders through graduating high school seniors. Camp is held on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA.

Campers will live in residence halls, eat in the college cafeteria and have classes and performances using Reinhardt facilities.

The camp is run by a dedicated group of instructors, counselors, and a camp chaplain, many of whom were campers themselves.

If your child loves digital drama, musical drama, handbells, organ, praise team, percussion, piano, sign worship arts, guitar, glee dance, wind ensemble, stomp, ukulele, string ensemble, mime, flute ensemble, or dulcimer, this is the camp for them.

Brightmoor Hospice, Spalding Regional Hospital and Amedysis Home Health are pleased to announce that they will be hosting a Community Health Fair on Saturday, March 14, 2015. The event will be at the Spalding County Senior Center from 8:00 am until 11:30 am. This event is free to the public, and all screenings and tests will be available for adults 18 years of age and older.
Vendors will be available to assess and screen attendees on numerous health issues. Spalding Regional Hospital will be providing free cholesterol screenings. In order to receive accurate results, attendees should avoid eating or drinking before having the cholesterol screen performed. In addition to the health screenings, representatives from the Georgia State Patrol will be conducting a car seat safety inspection to insure that car seats are installed properly. The GSP Aviation Unit will also have their helicopter available. Treasured Moments in Black History celebrates the people and events that have shaped history and inspired lives. People such as Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, Jessie Owens, and many more. Treasured Moments in Black History – all month long at 7:15 am and 5:15 pm on NewLife FM!

 

The Boy Scouts of American will be engaging in a service project entitled “Scouting for Food”.  The Boy Scouts of the Flint River Council will conduct their annual collection of non-perishable food items on Feb 7th and 14th.  Scouts will be out placing bags at homes on February the 7th and will return on the 14th to collect the food.  All of the non-perishable food items will be given to local food banks within each county.  In advance, the Boy Scouts of the Flint River Council would like to thank you for helping them in this worthwhile cause! Bethel Baptist Church of Milner will be hosting a Ladies Retreat on Saturday, March 14 form 10am til 2 PM.  The speaker will be Mrs. Norma McMurray.  Cost is $ 5.00.  Lunch is included.  A love offering will also be taken. Walk for Life to benefit the Pregnancy Care Center will take place on March 28, Saturday. The registration is at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9:00.  This is a benefit event to provide funds for the operation of the Pregnancy Care Center of Jonesboro, GA. While the holidays typically bring a slowdown to blood donations, this winter’s flu epidemic and the cold weather in the southeast cut even deeper into the blood supply. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is now in emergency need for blood. Donors must be 17 or older, or 16 with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health.
