The Boy Scouts of American will be engaging in a service project entitled “Scouting for Food”.  The Boy Scouts of the Flint River Council will conduct their annual collection of non-perishable food items on Feb 7th and 14th.  Scouts will be out placing bags at homes on February the 7th and will return on the 14th to collect the food.  All of the non-perishable food items will be given to local food banks within each county.  In advance, the Boy Scouts of the Flint River Council would like to thank you for helping them in this worthwhile cause! The Chamber Choir of Griffin Choral Arts has been selected to sing at the High Museum (1280 Peachtree Street NE) in Atlanta on Saturday, January 3.  Outstanding Metro-Atlanta a cappella groups will perform as part of the museum’s current exhibit “Make a Joyful Noise:  Renaissance Art and Music in Florence Cathedral.”

The performance will take place at 3 p.m. in the “Make a Joyful Noise” exhibit area, Wieland Pavilion, Second Floor.  Admission to the museum is required.  More information is available at the High Museum website:  www.High.org.

The 20th Annual fly for tots Christmas Fundraiser! The West Central Georgia Flying Club and Thomaston-Upson County Airport will be hosting the Fly for Tots Christmas Fundraiser on Saturday December 6th from 8 am to 3 PM at the Thomaston-Upson County Airport on Delray Road.

Bring a toy or cash donation to receive a FREE flight over Thomaston or a pancake breakfast during the morning hours. Please leave gifts unwrapped. Suggested donations are 20 dollars for adults and children 16 and under 10 dollars. Passengers under 18 must have a guardian sign a waiver before receiving a flight. The 20th annual fly for tots Christmas Fundraiser!
