First Baptist Church of Newnan invites you to Freedom Celebration – Sunday June 26th at 6:30 PM at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts of Coweta County. This free event will feature special speakers Lt. Col Barry Bridger, an F4 phantom pilot who served 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton POW camp in Vietnam, Lt. Col Brian Birdwell who was at the Pentagon on 9/11, and guest soloist Tiffany Coburn of the Voices of Liberty at Epcot Center. Plus the combined  Sanctuary Choirs and Orchestras of FBC Newnan and Flat Creek Baptist Church.

 

Griffin First Assembly invites you to their Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd beginning at 5 pm. Headlining the event will be 8 time Dove Award winner New Song, plus activities for children, and patriotic music presented by the Griffin First Assembly Choir. Admission to this event is free!

The Flippen United Methodist Church will host a Catfish Fry on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 from 11 AM to 4:30 PM. The meal will include catfish, hush puppies, French fries, cole slaw, drink and dessert. New Beginnings Community Baptist Church in Griffin will be hosting a Summer Camp for children entering kindergarten through 8th grade. The camp is daily from 8 am to 3 pm Monday June 6th through Friday July 15th. Cost is $30 per week and includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks. For more information call 770-412-6265.

Believers of God Church in Griffin invites you to their Day of Atonement Festival on June 11th from 1-4 pm. Free food, music and fun for the whole family. The church is located on North Hill  St. in Griffin.

 

Community Gardens of Henry County is sponsoring the 5th Annual Love & Homegrown Tomatoes on Sunday, June 12 from 2 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Village Park at 101 Lake Dow Road, McDonough.  There will be a tomato sandwich buffet, tours of the garden, music, vendors, a kids’ area, and door prizes.  Additionally, there is an opportunity to stroll through demonstration gardens at the historic Nolan House. Profits from this event help support Helping Harvest Gardens.  All vegetables grown in our Helping Harvests garden in McDonough are donated to help address hunger relief in Henry County. More than 95,000 pounds of fresh produce has been donated to food pantries and other non-profits since we began. Tickets are $10 for adults over 16 and $5 for children ages 4 – 16.

 

 

Bethany Christian Church of Williamson will have its annual worship service on Sunday, June 12, 2016 @ 11:00 am.  The Bethany Church was chartered in 1879 and this year’s service will celebrate 137 years in this one room church.  Location:  Corner of Hutchinson Road and Bethany  Road in Spalding County.  It is located just West of Highway 362.  The turn on Hutchinson Road is South of Williamson and the Music Barn.  The church is on the corner of Hutchinson Road and Bethany Road.
