The State Farmer’s Market in Forest Park on I-75 at Exit 237 is having a family fun Farmer’s Showcase Event on July 27 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Showcasing fresh produce straight from the farmers.  There will be games and activities and family fun.  Everyone is welcome.

When disaster strikes, will you help?  The Red Cross is looking for people like you, people with a passion to help others, to serve on a volunteer shelter team.  Businesses, civic groups, faith-based and other organizations are invited to take free training offered during the Red Cross’ shelter drill on Saturday, July 27, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Carver Road Middle School in Griffin.  Help the Red Cross provide a safe refuge for disaster victims. Pastor Robert Vines and the members of The Ole Country Church at 2649 Hwy 155 North, in McDonough would like to invite You to a singing on Sunday Aug 4th at 6:00 PM featuring Mike & Kelly Bowling.  Amission is free, a Love offering will be taken up.  Nursery will be provided.

There will be a Living Deeper Conference Women’s Conference at Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough on August 9th and 10th – featuring Jena Forehand. Registration begins at 5:30 PM on Friday August 9th. Living Deeper Ministries offers training event

The” Spalding County Survivors’ Network” Cancer Support Group for Women in Spalding and surrounding counties will be meeting at J. Henry’s Restaurant located at 110 West College Street in Griffin, GA on July 23, 2013.  The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.  All female cancer survivors are personally invited to attend this meeting.  This month our focus will be on “Caring and Sharing” our stories and experiences with other survivors.  Please come and enjoy this fellowship and meet some new friends!  Our group is only as good as you make it! Foster Parents Needed!  Grace for Children Foster Care is recruiting for new foster parents.  Homes are needed for children ages birth – 18 years old and especially for sibling groups and teenagers.   An informational meeting will be held Monday, July 22 at 6:00pm and every Monday for the month of August.  Please contact Ashlie Hale for details at 770.460.6652 or by email at ahale@gbchfm.org.  Grace for Children Foster Care is a division of Fayette Youth Protection Homes and is administered by Georgia Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries.
