Col Brian Birdwell who was at the Pentagon on 9/11, and guest soloist Tiffany Coburn of the Voices of Liberty at Epcot Center. Plus the combined  Sanctuary Choirs and Orchestras of FBC Newnan and Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Believers of God Church in Griffin invites you to their Day of Atonement Festival on June 11th from 1-4 pm. Free food, music and fun for the whole family. The church is located on North Hill  St. in Griffin.

 

Community Gardens of Henry County is sponsoring the 5th Annual Love & Homegrown Tomatoes on Sunday, June 12 from 2 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Village Park at 101 Lake Dow Road, McDonough.  There will be a tomato sandwich buffet, tours of the garden, music, vendors, a kids’ area, and door prizes.  Additionally, there is an opportunity to stroll through demonstration gardens at the historic Nolan House. Profits from this event help support Helping Harvest Gardens.  All vegetables grown in our Helping Harvests garden in McDonough are donated to help address hunger relief in Henry County. More than 95,000 pounds of fresh produce has been donated to food pantries and other non-profits since we began. Tickets are $10 for adults over 16 and $5 for children ages 4 – 16.

 

 

Bethany Christian Church of Williamson will have its annual worship service on Sunday, June 12, 2016 @ 11:00 am.  The Bethany Church was chartered in 1879 and this year’s service will celebrate 137 years in this one room church.  Location:  Corner of Hutchinson Road and Bethany  Road in Spalding County.  It is located just West of Highway 362.  The turn on Hutchinson Road is South of Williamson and the Music Barn.  The church is on the corner of Hutchinson Road and Bethany Road.

Christian Families Today’s Freedom from Addiction Program will be hosting classes beginning Thursday, June 2nd at 174 Ashley Park Blvd. in Newnan. The airfield and museum are located just off Hwy 362 in Williamson GA.  Activities are scheduled from 11 am – 5 pm at this family-focused event that includes an invitation to dress-up in period costumes; see the display of old cars and vintage planes; and enjoy the old-fashioned food and music.  This year’s event will be a music festival along with an airplane parade of flight.  Admission fee is $10 per car with all proceeds going to support the Candler Field Museum Youth Program.

This event is sponsored by Caring House Pregnancy Resource Center and will take place at the Griffin City Golf Course on Camp Northern Road. The 20th Anniversary of Fine Arts Festival will be held the Saturday before Mother’s Day in Jackson. The festival features nationally known artists bringing hundreds of pieces of fine art to the show, including hand crafted jewelry, oil and watercolor paintings, blown glass, mixed-media, photography and a lot more. Admission and parking are free at the outdoor event from 10 am to 3 pm only, on Saturday, May 7th at the corner of East Third and Dempsey Avenue in Jackson. Conyers First United Methodist Church is open to the community to participate in the  Annual National Day of Prayer Event on  Thursday,  May 5, 2016 at Noon. There will be a short program in the Sanctuary with special music from the Preschool children.  There will be Prayer Stations open from 9am-2pm in the Narthex, for those who want to participate in special prayer or may not be able to come at Noon.  All are invited to a light lunch after the program to be served in the Fellowship Hall for a donation to Missions. Dauset Trails in Jackson will be hosting the 16th annual Bluebirds and Bluegrass festival on Saturday, April 23rd. Featuring Grassville, The Apostles of Bluegrass, and Recycled Grass. There will be craft vendors, food, and blacksmith demonstrations too. Gates open at 9 AM and the event is free to all!
