While the holidays typically bring a slowdown to blood donations, this winter’s flu epidemic and the cold weather in the southeast cut even deeper into the blood supply. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is now in emergency need for blood. Donors must be 17 or older, or 16 with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. The Chamber Choir of Griffin Choral Arts has been selected to sing at the High Museum (1280 Peachtree Street NE) in Atlanta on Saturday, January 3.  Outstanding Metro-Atlanta a cappella groups will perform as part of the museum’s current exhibit “Make a Joyful Noise:  Renaissance Art and Music in Florence Cathedral.”

The performance will take place at 3 p.m. in the “Make a Joyful Noise” exhibit area, Wieland Pavilion, Second Floor.  Admission to the museum is required.  More information is available at the High Museum website:  www.High.org.

The 20th Annual fly for tots Christmas Fundraiser! The West Central Georgia Flying Club and Thomaston-Upson County Airport will be hosting the Fly for Tots Christmas Fundraiser on Saturday December 6th from 8 am to 3 PM at the Thomaston-Upson County Airport on Delray Road.

Bring a toy or cash donation to receive a FREE flight over Thomaston or a pancake breakfast during the morning hours. Please leave gifts unwrapped. Suggested donations are 20 dollars for adults and children 16 and under 10 dollars. Passengers under 18 must have a guardian sign a waiver before receiving a flight. The 20th annual fly for tots Christmas Fundraiser!
